Fulmer 153 for 6

Ruislip Victoria 152 for 6

Fulmer won by 4 wickets

Ruislip Victoria won the toss and decided to bat on another sunny day at Fulmer. Zeeshan and Manu Kapila opened the bowling and kept a very tight rein on the scoring. Zeeshan was in all the action, running out P. Bailey with a brilliant piece of fielding and then bowled I. Krunic for 7.

RVCC dug in for a while then our senior player, Del Randall had S. D’Costa caught by the safe hands of Prash. RVCC made steady progress but the tight bowling and fielding restricted the run rate.

The Chairman chimed in with a well-earned wicket which started a middle order collapse. Julian Gibbs took a couple of handy wickets before the end of the 40 overs which saw RVCC on 152 for 6. Our form so far this season suggested this was a total within our reach.

Prash and Sukhi opened the batting and quickly raced to 24 before Sukhi fell LBW for 12. Prash followed soon after for 15 which left Nigel(7) and Manu Sharma (14) to steady the ship for a few overs.

Ali and Zeeshan played well looking very comfortable until one stayed low and bowled Zeeshan for 11. Nick joined Ali and they got us to within 9 of the required total before Ali holed out for 30.

The Chairman then joined his son for the last few balls and unselfishly (wasn’t given the choice) let his son finish off the total without facing a ball. Nick finished on 33 not out which was another good score in what is looking like a successful season for him with the bat. The lads from RVCC then joined us for the post match drink to continue what was a most enjoyable fixture.
