FCC v Ibstone

By | July 24, 2011

Fulmer, 222 for 9

Ibstone 225 for 6

FCC lost by 4 wickets

Fulmer won the toss and elected to bat. Ali and Prash had us off to a healthy start of 86 before Ali went for 56. He really was in good touch carting the ball all over the place with 2 sixes and a load of fours.

Nick went for 1 which brought Zeeshan to the crease. He made a cracking 74 before losing concentration and being out LBW. Del quickly followed with a “golden” (out first ball) duck. Peter B looked like he might be in for a decent score with a quickly made 12 but succumbed to a straight one and was bowled.

Graham joined the fray with a big hitting 22. Julian 4, Paul 0, Takabar 11 not out and Manu K 1 not out finished our 40 overs. The best bowling figures were returned by Hearnden who took 3 wickets for 12 runs.

The score looked defendable but the openers had other ideas. They put on 80 before Ali managed to get us a wicket. Their next two batsmen followed reasonably quickly but North, who was dropped a number of times, continued on his merry way. He was eventually out for 109.

We still had a chance and despite taking wickets at regular intervals Ibstone won the game with 4 wickets in hand. Del had the best bowling with 2 for 42 followed by Ali with 2 for 58.
