West Wycombe v FCC

By | July 23, 2011

Fulmer 129 all out

West Wycombe 130 for 2

FCC lost by 8 wickets

Having crushed West Wycombe at home in May we were expecting a tough match at their ground. The result would suggest that our expectations proved to be correct.

We won the toss and elected to bat. We were off to a poor start with Fish out for 1 and Prash back in the hutch for 8. Nick 49 and Shyam 20 steadied the ship putting on nearly 50 for their partnership.

However with Steve 18 and Will 10 being the only other batters in double figures we were dismissed for 129. Jones took the bowling award with 4 wickets for 32 runs.

The bowlers set about the task of restricting the opposition to the fairly modest target with plenty of effort. Manu struck in the 5th over with the score at just 11. However Godfrey 76 not out, Biffa 20 and Gibson 19 not out went about their task in a determined manner and accumulated the required runs from 33 overs.

Sir William Hoste Cricket Club is based on the stunning Croatian Island of Vis. We are hosting a 6′s and a T10 tournament in early May 2012 which we hope will be fun and continue to develop cricket in croatia. These are social tournaments and can be entered by teams or individuals (who will pick up teams on arrival). Vis is a stunning island and this offers you a chance to combine cricket in the sun and maybe even some island wine. I hope this may be of interest to you as a club or equally just a couple of your members.

Vis Cricket
