Fulmer v Widmer End

By | June 21, 2015

Fulmer 155 for 9 off 40 overs
Widmer End 157 for 2 off 23.2 overs
Fulmer lost by 8 wickets

Our regular opponents, Widmer End arrived again at King George’s Field for our first return fixture of the season.

Venkat (5) and Sukhi (27) opened the batting but some fiery bowling at one end from Parsons set it up for the guile of Wyatt to take 4 wickets.

Venkat, Prash(2) and Nick(0) went far too cheaply and were followed soon after by Mark (6) and Peter (5). At 78 for 6 in the 19th over it looked like an early shower.

Jules (29) and Ben (20), however, put on a 40 run partnership to get to some level of respectability. Manan (12 not out) and Arjan (8) saw us to the end of our 40 overs and a under par score of 155.

After tea, Mark and Peter opened the bowling to some ferocious batting from Parsons who made a quick fire 37 before he was well caught by Venkat trying to hit Peter over the boundary.

His fellow opener Pearson was not being troubled by our attack and accumulated 42 not out. Venkat got Hobbs cheaply but the next bat scored an impressive 68 not out to see the visitors comfortably home.

In good spirits with our old friends from Widmer we chewed over our match with a few refreshments in the pavilion.
