By | August 22, 2015

Fulmer 136 for 9 off 34.1 overs
Woking & Horsell 240 for 3 off 40 overs
Fulmer lost by 104 runs

On one of the hottest cricketing days this season James strolled out to do his duty and failed!

Having lost the toss Fulmer were asked to field. The beautiful-looking batting track turned out to be as it appeared and Fulmer’s bowlers struggled as the openers put on 68.

After 20 overs Woking were well set at 95-1 – this low score was mainly due to some tight bowling from Sam who conceded just 25 runs from his eight overs which unfortunately otherwise went unrewarded.

The good foundation meant that Woking could really get going and 145 runs came off the second 20 overs with most of the Fulmer bowlers (James, Mark, Julian, Paul and Waleed) caught up in the action.

Of the three wickets to fall, Mark got two and Jules one. Woking’s total of 240 was a good score and one which could be expected on this track.

After a Tansy tea, which was well commented upon by the opposition, Fulmer went to see how they would fair batting.

Fish (24) and Keith (13) had another reasonable start of 37 off eight overs. Keith and then Fish fell in quick succession, but Sam and Mark had a stand of 36 before Mark went for 11 and Sam was run out for an excellent 38.

Jules (6) and James (5) came and went before Will hit a cavalier 20 (three fours and a six included) and the innings finished with Waleed contributing two, Paul one, leaving Armando stranded on 0*. Woking came out as worthy winners by 104 runs.
