Fulmer 65 all out
Wealdstone Corinthians 154 for 3 off 35
Fulmer lost by 89 runs

A few heavy morning showers meant that the start was delayed and the game reduced to 35 overs a side.

Once the covers were removed our regular opponents Wealdstone set about their innings.

Fulmer made an immediate breakthrough with Colloff Junior, making his debut, taking a smart catch behind the stumps off James’ bowling, dismissing Naylor for a duck.

Fulmer, however, were then frustrated by steady accumulation from Clark and Samarth. They took the score to 96 before Clark went to a catch at mid wicket by Nick off of David’s bowling for 59.

Samarth was the next to go to a catch by David off the Chairman’s bowling. That was the last wicket to fall , as a somewhat vocal Wakling was joined by C Brown and with some hard hitting took the score to 154-3.

Fulmer managed to, once again, spurn chances by spilling 3 very takeable catches. James was the pick of the bowlers with his 7 overs costing 20 runs . Debutant Assad bowled tidily with 7 overs costing 23 runs. The remaining Fulmer bowlers found it tough to withstand the late onslaught.

After Tea Fulmer set about getting what was considered to be a manageable target.

Such optimism was quickly removed and Fulmer found themselves 27-4 with Shayam featuring for Wealdstone with some sharp spin bowling.

Wickets kept tumbling with only Nick (19) David (11) and Tony (19*) reaching double figures.

A Danny perished first ball followed by Chris with another duck and then Paul run out for a duck without facing.

So another chastening defeat for Fulmer with another inept batting display as Wealdstone recorded a very well deserved first ever victory against us. Shayam and S Brown both recorded great figures of 7 overs 3wkts for 10.
