Sunday09th May 2010 v Iver Heath (Home)
Fulmer beat Iver Heath by 147 runs A grey day in South Bucks saw Fulmer welcome Iver Heath to King George’s Field. Batting first, Fulmer’s main concern was how the wicket might play, given the previous day’s difficulty, but, with all credit to the groundsman, the second strip of the season was an altogether more pleasant ride. Despite losing a couple of early wickets, Fulmer put in an assured batting performance, Nick Box leading the way with 70, ably supported by Ali (29) and Vijay (33). Some crisp late hitting from Jules Gibbs (14) and Nahman (19) saw Fulmer over the 200 barrier, to finish on 207 all out. This total could have been even bigger if Fulmer had batted their full allocation, but as it was the innings comprised a mere 31 overs. In response, Iver never really got going and none of their big hitters was able to hang on long enough to influence the game. Having said that, the innings was not without incident as Mark Denness managed to drop a hat-trick of chances off his own bowling as Ali showed him it was done, pouching a couple of gems (and registering a drop), enough to earn him the fielding point. The wickets were shared around between the bowlers, with Nahman, Vijay and Derek grabbing two apiece (the latter for the concession of a single run), and Jules registering the astonishing stats of 0.4-0-0-2. The all-round strong performance in the field meant that Fulmer restricted Iver to a paltry 60 all out, and registered the second big win of the weekend.
