Saturday 08th May 2010 v Wealdstone Corinthians (Home)
Fulmer beat Wealdstone Corinthians by 65 runs A damp and rainy day saw the first of the home games being played at the Rec. The toss was duly lost and Fulmer were put in to bat. The wicket proved to be a bit on the low side but was at least consistent. This was not a day for playing off the back foot as shown by the seven LBW decisions during the game. The lynch-pin of FCC’s innings was an excellent knock of 58 by Nick Box, with support being shown by Prash (28), Peter Box (24) and some good late hitting by Osman (18). A total of 174 for 9 was finally posted on the stroke of tea. Wealdstone lost wickets fairly regularly, and were eventually all out for 109. Five of the six bowlers used got wickets with the overall best being Uzair with 3-9 off his six overs. A good all round fielding display saw five catches taken including an excellent one by Uzair. There were no dropped catches but there was at least one example of catch avoidance. So, FCC started their home campaign with a win by 65 runs. The fielding award was given to Ian Fisher, keeping wicket.
